Frequently Asked Questions
Where are you located?
We are located at 1340 Pukete Road, Pukete, Hamilton. Please click here for a google map.
Are you open on public holidays?
No sorry we are not. This gives the staff and horses a well deserved rest.
What do I wear for my horse riding lessons?
We suggest riders wear sensible and comfortable clothing during their ride. Long comfortable pants such as leggings, trackpants or jodphurs are recommended to wear on the horse, with socks to wear under your riding boots/shoes. All riders must wear a solid, covered in shoe. It is not necessary to purchase riding boots initially as all of our stirrups are safety stirrups. A t-shirt with sleeves is recommended. It is also recommended that riders wear sunscreen, particularly in summer. In Autumn/Winter months, it can be quite cold – don’t forget to bring a warm jacket for after your lesson.
What do I need to bring to my ride?
We recommend riders bring a water bottle along to their lesson to have before and after their ride.
Where can I purchase my own riding clothing and equipment?
There are several reputable equestrian stores in Hamilton and the greater Waikato Area.
Do you sell gift vouchers?
Yes! We sell gift vouchers for all those special occasions – perfect for birthdays, Christmas, anniversaries and more. Our vouchers can be purchased for any of our services – lessons, farm rides, PET sessions or alternatively you can pick any monetary value.
What time to I need to arrive for my ride?
For first time riders, we recommend that you arrive 10-15 minutes prior to your lesson to check in with the office, fill in any necessary paperwork and be fitted with helmets prior to the ride. This is important to ensure that the ride leaves on time so you can obtain the full experience. Unfortunately, we cannot accept riders who are late to their ride, so please ensure you plan your trip with time to spare.
Do you have a weight limit for your rides?
We have a weight limit of 90kgs on our riding school horses. This weight limit is for the safety and comfort of our riders and horses.
I am thinking of booking my child in for a farm ride or lesson, but am concerned that they may become fearful. What do you suggest?
For younger children who have never ridden before – if you are concerned that your child may be fearful of the ride, we recommend you start with a PET experience or a private lesson to get them used to horses.
